Lake Murray State Park, OK

Hello again,

In the month of May, we went to Lake Murray State Park.  At this campout, this was the first time we got to take the big white trailer to a campout.  The Quartermaster had his work cut out for him.  We got take a look at some of the amphibious wildlife in Oklahoma.  We learned about frogs and toads and many other wondrous amphibians.  We went on a nature hike up a big hill, and went inside Tucker Tower, an old fort restored into a museum and nature center.  There were cool things in Tucker Tower like a mammoth skull, to life sized dioramas of people that lived in the area and a wonderful view of the lake.  We had a great time!

Thank you,

The Troop Historian, Casey T.

OA Callout

This past weekend we had the Order of the Arrow Callout. It was pretty cool! We gathered around the fire and saw the Mic-O-Say Dancers perform.

After that the ceremony began and we saw other members of the council get Called Out. This selection means they are chosen to go through the Ordeal if they choose. Completing the Ordeal is what makes you a member of the OA.

Troop 226 had one member get called out.
